This cart was designed by the Mooie Bende platform. Mooie Bende is an initiative by residents of the Wildeman neighborhood and The Beach to tackle the plastic waste problem. Together, we cleaned the neighborhood streets by picking up trash every month and then creating new products from it. With this circular mentality, we promoted awareness of how we handle our waste. Together, we learned about circularity, reuse, and the collaborative design and creation of products!
To make litter picking more fun and easy, Mooie Bende designed a special cart. This cart is entirely 3D printed, allowing for easy collection of street litter. With this cart, we carried out monthly litter picking activities in 2018. Together with neighborhood residents we made the area cleaner. The waste we collected was used in our workshops. From it, we created artworks, music machines, photo frames, flowerpots, and more products together with van Plestic.
